Three Ways to Get That 'Friday feeling' on a Monday
So it's that time of day on a Friday when the weekend is in sight. Your jobs for the week are almost done and you're looking forwards to a weekend of relaxation and fun with friends and family. Follow our 3 tips and you can rest assured that every day is a Friday...
1) Get moving
It's been proven time and time again that exercise is good for us. Every time you move you release good chemicals into your body that help you feel great.
The more you move the better you'll feel. If you've ever been running you'll know all about the 'runners high' - a feeling of euphoria after intense movement.
So this weekend get out into the fresh air and move your body. And perhaps next week you could plan a walk on your lunch or better still with friends and family.
2) Stay silly
I must confess I've never been a fan of uniforms unless they're worn to assist the public interest. The second I put on my first uniform at school I was told to grow up and take things seriously.
Now I'm not saying you should turn up to work on Monday in a dressing gown but at the same time don't become so wrapped up in your own identity that you lose that worry free silly child within that's itching to break free.
Life's too short to take it so seriously so this weekend do some of the things you used to enjoy when you were a child.
3) Live in the moment
It's Friday, yet many of us are already planning tomorrow. That's great but what about today, what about now? Your life is right here in this moment. In fact, it's the only place you have ever been!
Sometimes we need tools to help us slow down and for me, a good cup of tea centres me in the here and now. Slowing me down so I can grab a moment to myself.
So next time you feel like the day is flying past press the pause button, slow down and smell the roses. It's a cliché but a cliché for a reason.
