Pairs well with

An artisan and sweet Oolong, originating from Thyolo, Malawi.

What it is?
An artisan and sweet Oolong, originating from Thyolo, Malawi.

Why we love it
A smooth, delicate earthy aroma with tropical notes. Excellently worked, slightly open, curly leaves with large parts of silvery-white leaf tips and darker, fully fermented leaf portions.

Where it’s from
The Thyolo (pronounced “Cho’lo”) tea estates in Malawi, Africa.  Tea has been grown here since 1908 and the primly trimmed bushes (strictly, trees) give the whole area the appearance of a neatly kept but vast garden. Scenically beautiful, the estates are overlooked by the impressive Mount Mulanje to the east and itself overlooks the Lower Shire Valley, which descends to the west.

How our drink hits the senses
Thyolo offers malty aromas with piquant tea notes, and a well-rounded flavour that opens up when milk is added.

The taste journey
A perfect black Tea. Delicious with milk and sugar, it is also wonderful on its own. It goes splendidly with eggs and bacon or clotted cream and scones.

Best enjoyed;
1tsp // 90°C // 1-3 mins
