A classic Camellia Sinensis (Assamica) black tea from the state of Assam, India.

What it is?
Assam leaves blended in house from selected Assam qualities which are chosen from different tea plantations in the country of origin.

Why we love it
The infusion of these black, well-processed leaves with light leaf tips is strong and dark and has an earthy-spicy taste and a malty note. The scent is spicy and heavy.

Where it’s from
Named after the region of its production, Assam, India. The state of Assam is the world's largest tea-growing region, lying on either side of the Brahmaputra River. Assam tea is born out of this river, and its teas are a direct result of the alluvial soil it deposits.

How our drink hits the senses
Whilst sitting dry in its container waiting to become your BRUU; A strong, malty and aromatic leaf with a rich body that gives off that special and definitive darkened tea leaf scent. As the drink is BRUUing; Remember to treat the nose during this process as the nose is more sensitive than the mouth and you'll truly enjoy these orange pekoe leaves infusing. Such a soothing unique addictive smell. Watch as the warming colour of this tea progresses. Oxidised to perfection.

The taste journey
It's no wonder Assam has become so famous worldwide. A rich level of harshness and tangy yet an Assam-like malty aftertaste. We're biased here at BRUU but if someone is looking for a rich full-bodied beverage why choose coffee? Have a loose orange pekoe (bop) leafed Assam instead.

Best enjoyed;
1tsp //  90-100°C  // 2-3 mins
